"This seems to be an after market rather than an original spare, and hence not necessarily the precise dimensions of the original. The hinge did not fit into the socket on the original base at all. The mouldings are not clean and have many burrs, and when the part arrived, one cutter had fallen out because the blue locking ring was loose and could not be turned, even with great force, to lock in place. The final straw was that the original smoked cutters cover would not clip on as the new frame is fractionally smaller. Rather than return it for refund and be left without an alternative, the solution was to cannibalise it for spares, transferring one of the rocker rings over to replace the broken one of the original, all 3 new cutters, and use the old blue locking rings which worked with the new rocker ring too. To do so you need to be handy with tools and confident you are up to the task. Otherwise, one would have to hunt hard for a Philips original. "
